Watercolor painting can be a lot of fun. You can make some great paintings to hang up or give away.
Craft Project Directions:
To make this craft project you will need water color paints, paint brushes, a sponge, salt, water color paper, and some cups for your water.
To begin, create a little work space for you to create your painting in. Perhaps lay down some newspapers to work on top of.
Take out your paints, cups of water, and brushes. Lay down your paper. You can start creating in different ways. You could first wet your water color paper with a sponge.
If you do this when you paint the colors will travel and spread out on the paper and create all sorts of interesting patterns. Or you could just paint directly on the paper without dampening it first.
Decide what type of picture you want to create. Dip your paintbrush in your water and create a small puddle of paint on top of the color you want to use.
Brush the color onto your paper in little dabs.
Repeat as many time with as many colors as you want to add to your painting. You can paint with all sorts of objects- don't limit yourself to just paint brushes!
You can use objects like q-tips, forks, craft sticks, sponges, feathers, string, cotton balls, your fingers, and much more. Just use your imagination to create a different types of effects.
If you want to, sprinkle salt on top of your painting. The salt will absorb some of the colors and sparkle. Let your creation dry and hang it up.
